Eating and Driving?

Yes or no? Does it make a difference, or is eating and driving a skill that becomes mastered with practice, is it possible that an experienced driver can do both and avoid a collision when it suddenly goes wrong? Or is it in fact the reality of no experience of an emergency situtation that creates a false sense of security and therefore no emergency situtation or the time involved with reacting to the unexpected can be perceived.
Data released from a recent survey shows that reaction time when eating and driving increases by 44%. Just under half of the drivers surveyed (47%), admitted to regularly driving with one hand on the wheel. We see our cars as a comfortable, safe environment, but what if…? Would you forgive a driver who injured your nearest and dearest because they were eating, drinking or resting a hand on the gearstick, meaning a tragedy could have been prevented. Could you forgive yourself?
