About Us
Central was originally started in the mid 1980′s a family run company, we then became the first high street, and also the thrid franchisor of what is now known as a large national company. We then became Central LD and ran a multi-car school, one of the partners moved due to ill health and the company moved premises. One of our directors, Ian Green was a director for a national association, considered taking the place as CEO at a national association, and is currently a member of the GPC at the DIA. He has spoken at many associations across the UK, and was involved in the stakeholder meetings at the DSA. We have delivered acreditted fleet courses across the UK, and Ian has been delivering CPD courses for many years, first as part of a national association, and now for Central DT. We have had a full classroom facility since 1990. Ian is friends with many in the industry and is currently studying for a degree. We initially answer the needs of our local ADIs but also offer many courses nationally. Check test training is something we cover extensively with anonimity guaranteed. We became a limited company in 2010 and renamed ourselves Central Driver Ttaining. We have a high street position and offer free help to learners and run a coffee morning drop in for instructors fortnightly. We are members of the road sign sounding board for the DFT, and take an active community role. One of our directors is researching young driver attitude and behaviour for a book on coaching, due to be available at the end of 2012.
We believe in an instructor community, somewhere to call by for a chat and a friendly face, we will be producing fortnightly news sheets in 2012 containing industry updates.
